Standard Electrode Potentials

H2O2 contains oxygen in a state of oxidation midway between molecular oxygen and water.

Oxygen Moiety Reduction
O2 ↔ H2O2 ↔ H2O
Oxygen Valence
0 -1 -2
Oxidation

H2O2 → O2 + 2H+ + 2e Eo = -0.682 V
H2O2 + 2H+ + 2e → 2H2O Eo = 1.776 V

For perhydroxyl ion (HO2):

OH + HO2 → O2 + H2O + 2e EBo = 0.084 V
3OH → HO2 + H2O + 2e EBo = -0.87 V
